Switching from Career Mode to Training Exercises in Episode 2 of my new Let’s Play series on YouTube – by The Anarchist for FourTwoZero Creations Community Gaming Blog.
In my first episode of Let’s Play Kerbal Space Program, I launched headfirst into career mode, without any prior experience or training whatsoever, thinking I was going to get some sort of in game tutorial as I progressed through the game.
Sadly, that was not the case, and I was chaotically exploring the various menus and buildings within the game, without any clear direction of where I wanted to go with the episode!
So for this episode, I decided I was going to actually head over to the training menu and learn what I could about this game. I knew that it was going to have a steep learning curve, because it is based around rocket science and space exploration, but I didn’t understand, nor was I fully prepared for, how difficult it would actually be! And I’m only playing on the normal difficulty setting!
The first Training Exercise on the list was the Getting Started and Basic Construction tutorial, so I decided that was going to be the best place to start even though I probably should have started with these in the first place!
As the name implies, the Getting Started Training focuses on giving you all the information and knowledge required to start progressing in the career mode of Kerbal Space Program. This portion includes a brief overview of all the buildings within the Kerbal Space Center, how to view information about the buildings, and how to upgrade them later on.
Once we launched into the Basic Construction Training, we were able to focus on the Vehicle Assembly Building, where we were able to build, and learned how to save the design of, a beginner rocket that we will be able to launch in the next training exercise!
This portion of the tutorial also covered some useful tips and tricks when placing parts on our spacecraft, such as toggling the symmetry an snapping options!
It’s safe to say that this is definitely where I should have started before launching myself into the Career Mode, but it just goes to show that it’s never too late to get some training under your belt, or even take a refresher course every once in a while to get back up to speed if you’ve been away from the game for too long!
But that’s where we’re gonna start to wrap this one up! If you enjoyed this post, remember to light up that like button, and don’t forget to ignite the conversation by sharing your thoughts or questions in the comments down below!
